Jennifer is a seasoned arts and cultural leader with over 25 years of experience in fostering creativity and building vibrant artistic communities.
Jennifer has held leadership roles at various prestigious Canadian Art institutions, including the Textile Museum of Canada, the Art Gallery of Hamilton, and a variety of municipal cultural departments.
Her dedication to the arts reflects a lifelong passion for inspiring creativity and connecting communities.
Her own creative work includes graphic design and textile arts, and she is a member of the Port Blandford Artists and Makers Group.
Caroline has always been inspired by the natural world, a passion sparked by her father’s deep appreciation for nature.
She earned her BFA and BFAAE from NSCAD University in Halifax and dedicated 31 years to teaching high school art, shaping countless young artists along the way.
Her expertise also extended to a one-year role as Program Development Specialist for Visual Arts with the Department of Education, where she contributed to advancing arts education in the province.
While she is always creating, her passion lies in promoting art and providing opportunities for others to create and showcase their work.
Inspired by the captivating beauty of the ocean - Deidra is a resin artist whose creations evoke a sense of wonder and serenity.
When not in her studio, Deidra immerses herself in nature, drawing inspiration from boating, exploring ATV trails, and camping by the ocean’s edge.
In addition to her artistic pursuits, Deidra is a dedicated Business Instructor at the College of the North Atlantic, where she shares her expertise and passion for education.
As a Clarenville Town Councillor, she chairs the Economic Development, Tourism, and Communication Committee, working to promote local opportunities and enhancing the community's vibrancy.
Rowena’s love affair with art began with a box of 64 Crayola crayons (complete with the sharpener in the back!) and has been going strong ever since.
A retired teacher, singer, and fibre artist, Rowena has always loved to create. Whether designing or hooking a new piece for the floor or the wall, she finds joy in bringing her ideas to life through art.
As a CRAA volunteer, Rowena is excited to help shine a spotlight on the arts in the region, contributing her passion and creative energy to the community.
Her favourite crayon colour? "Periwinkle Blue."
Her motto: "Go Make Stuff!"
Bonnie has spent most of her life in Clarenville, where she worked with the former local newspaper, The Packet. Since retiring, she has relocated to the nearby seaside community of Harcourt, where she enjoys the beauty of coastal living and draws inspiration for many of her hooked rugs.
Her fibre art piece, Dory Days, was selected as an inaugural winner of the Clarenville Art Procurement Program in 2024 by a panel of judges and now proudly hangs in the Clarenville Town Hall.
Bonnie has always been a community-minded individual with a long history of volunteering for organizations such as the Children’s Wish Foundation, the Clarenville Area Chamber of Commerce, the local Figure Skating Association, and many others. She currently serves on the board of directors for the
local Co-op store.
Having discovered her love of fibre arts in her 50s, Bonnie is a strong believer that artistic passions can be uncovered and embraced at any stage of life, blossoming into something truly amazing.
Inspired by her mother at a young age, Kayla developed a love for creating that has stayed with her throughout her life.
Kayla has spent years painting, sketching, and exploring her talent, while also nurturing a strong passion for interior design.
Believing in the power of art to bring people together and enrich communities - not only does Kayla look forward to sharing her work - she looks forward to making meaningful art more accessible in the place she calls home.
Theresa has had a passion for all things handmade since the age of 5 when she first started threading and holding a knitting needle
A member of Random Matters Rug Hookers, Clarenville Seniors Quilting Group, and the Rug Hooking Guild of Newfoundland and Labrador (RGNL) Theresa aims to elevate and celebrate these art forms while teaching these skills to younger generations as our Mothers did before us.
